Well, I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew for the moment. As you know I'm trying to learn some HTML so that I won't be completely ignorant of what I'm doing on here, not to mention it's rather cool to be able to say, "Yeah, I know HTML." So now what do I have to do? Find GIMP; that was smart. I was "looking" at it the other day

You got GIMP? That is what I use! OOH, when we get together next time I have to show you how to use textures/gradients. Kaitlin showed me not to long ago and I went crazy. Unless you don't want to, that is fine too.

Hair: I like the style the way it is in the picture, but remember, you'd have to curl it out like that, if not it would lie flat against your head...and I need a picture of that to know if I like it or not. Why? You want to cut your hair? =)

OK, I just had a huge reply to both of you, and it deleted it(ahhh!). So this is going to have to be shorter, rats!
Thank you both for the encouragement with GIMP, Kaitlin I didn't know you knew I was here, so I'm quite flattered that you took the time, and I'm sure I'll have questions! Abby, I'd love to get together and work on stuff with you, now we'll just have to figure out when!
As to the hair, I'm not sure at this point what I want to do with mine, I go back and forth between wanting to keep it and thinking I'd like to chop it all off. So I don't know yet. But I can only imagine how much time(and how many people) it took to get her hair to look like that(as I sit here with a very wet head, wrapped in a towel!).
