Last week I applied for a poetry conference-retreat, knowing that it was a long shot but hoping for the best. Imagine my delight to find an e-mail this afternoon informing me I have been waitlisted and that "We were very, very impressed with your writing and would very much love to bring you into the Retreat should a space become available
