my room. the walls are red and covered in photographs and posters and art i've made. my windows and mirrors have quotes in my sloppy cursive and drawings from my boyfriend. my headboard is a bookshelf, stuffed with novels i've loved to death and books i've never touched, anthologies that define me and copies upon copies i need to break into. my bed sits low to the ground so i can roll in and out of it. i have re-upholstered stadium seats, three fold-down chairs covered in black patterned cloth -- they were so harsh, but now they are gorgeous. i have my typewriter and my giant cameras and a lamp with a yellow lampshade that gives off the most perfect burnt golden light. whenever i'm in my room i feel like i'm in a shitty apartment, living in a big city, it feels like my dream future every time i walk inside.
I've only been there once. It's an abandoned building just a few blocks from my house. It's decorated in graffiti and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's so quiet...
The road on my motorcycle. The wind whistling inside my helmet and the soothing cold wind going through jacket mesh. It's the best place in the world. Plus you can take it anywhere with you, as long as you have a motorcycle of course.
