I've been having a weird pain in my left side for the past three weeks. I finally went to the doctor who referred me for an ultrasound. They found a 4x5x8 cm. cyst in my left ovary. They don't know if it's cancerous or not. I'm going in for another round of tests ( Read more... )

Instead of a bland "everything will be okay," which I'm sure it will, allow me to be a bit more pragmatic. As stated above, losing one probably won't greatly inhibit your ability to have children. And if, Lord forbid, you do have to have your uterus removed, ask about egg preservation. Sometime down the line you may be able to afford a surrogate, if you really want a child of your blood. Modern medicine makes almost anything possible. So don't worry, everything will be okay ;-)
