today was hot here. it sucked. i was bored for most of it. scott slept most of the day and hockey has been on the tv all day. i went out to the store and bought a ton of fruits and veggies, yogurts, and other cool stuff to eat because fuck the oven. i got a pineapple and ate a huge portion of it without breaking out into blisters in my mouth and it ( Read more... )

Re: pineapple... it all boils down to the Bromelain enzyme. It's more prevalent in the stem and core, so the further away from those bits you ate, the less irritation you will experience. Also, some are more sensitive to it than others - I never react. (But I do to mango and cherries.) Also, some say cutting a pineapple and letting it sit overnight helps to break down the Bromelain, rendering the fruit less irritating.
