Funtik responds

Sep 18, 2011 06:03

Nearly two months after the original event, Russian-language media picked up this story and got a quote from Funtik Entertainment. I'm sure this was mostly because of Alexander Sedov's translation of my post into Russian, so thanks Alexander!

The most detailed article seems to be from RBC Daily (some others are here, here, here and here). It ( Read more... )

Congrats on getting the story picked up, Niffiwan.

You were asking about my Captain Pronin translation last month, but I didn't post it until much later. I'm sorry, it took me longer than anticipated to get it ready.

There is the translation I commissioned for episode 4. I've already added it to your wiki, along with the episode 3 translation someone else did.
Keep up the good work, Niffiwan!

Wow, I've just been catching up on this. I was wondering why suddenly your channel had only one piece, and why Pavlovich74, TheMotionBrigades, and others were gone. I am incredibly saddened and infuriated by this; you introduced us to so much incredible animation we never would have seen otherwise. These channels were valuable and educational and have been wiped out because someone got greedy.

Heartbroken.

I think Funtik and others who believe they can profit from removing your channels are really shooting themselves in the foot. They could have had a global audience - I know I and the audience for my blog do purchase animation - but have alienated potential customers (I will NEVER buy anything from them, nor will I endorse them.)

Funtik's stamp on every removed Soyuzmultfilm video is generating a name for them; a very bad one. They've really poisoned themselves - a casual search reveals that people are VERY angry. Those same people would have been the ones spending money on movies and DVDs. That would have been Funtik's audience.

What a shame, I loved your video channel and had quite a few of your animations lined up to be shared on Animalarium!

"Blocked by quiz group pro" anonymous October 24 2012, 05:53:28 UTC
My name is eus347. I have a channel of subtitled russian animation on youtube and dailymotion. Latest devellopment is that the majority of my latest uploads get blocked by Quiz group pro, claiming to be the copyright holder and blocking the content for all countries except russia.
They are a company specialized in exploiting new media.
Most of the blocked content were souyuzmultfilm productions, but recently also an older upload: wingless gosling. I can't make heads or tales of what they own in distribution rights and what not.

Point is that more and more subtitled animation disappear like this. ( by the way: you still can download the subs from them!) The group doesn't seem to do anything themselves with subtitles.

As soon as anything get's blocked I change the youtube title and ad this line in it: Blocked? watch at dailymotion com / eus347

Does anyone have any idea how to tackle this problem this time?
