Here's that game meme everyone else is doing
I am going to do that game meme all at once. I know that's cheating, but I would forget or not have time every day to update. :/ Sorry I haven't updated much lately, I'm finding twitter to be a better outlet for random thoughts these days.
Day 1 - Very First Video Game
Grover teaches Math (Super Mario Bros. if you want a /real/ video game)
Day 2 - Your favorite character.
Frank West - What's so great about this loser? He's covered wars, y'know. He is just an ordinary reporter trying to get a big scoop when he's thrown into this shitty situation with zombies and terrorists. Does he complain? Yes, but not much. He's the only one who does anything about it, anyway. Zombies aren't so scary.
Day 3 - A game that is underrated.
Blue Dragon - I don't know why people dislike it so much. You have what's closer to a successor of the Final Fantasy franchise than any game with a Final Fantasy name on it since FFX-2. People write it off because it looks like a Dragon Quest knockoff, but it has one of the best turn based battle systems with a job class ever. The story isn't hot, but it's passable.
Day 4 - Your guilty pleasure game.
Elite Beat Agents? - I don't know if that counts, but I can't think of anything else. In particular, I like September, ABC and Jumping Jack Flash. >_> I like to cheer for lost little dogs, so what?
Day 5 - Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were).
I'll go with "Wish you were" here since a game about a passive nerd would be boring. I wouldn't mind being John Marston...with one exception.
Day 6 - Most annoying character.
Vanille (FF13) - Holy crap. I try not to generalize Japanese taste in girls, but this ditzy-clumsy-schoolgirl stuff gets annoying. "C'mon let's go beat up the monsters, kay? It'll be fun! ^.^ *clings to introverted young male character*"
Day 7 - Favorite game couple.
Jansen and Ming (Lost Odyssey) - One of the better romance scenes takes place on Ming's big capital ship near the end of the game. Cute stuff.
Day 8 - Best soundtrack.
Infinite Undiscovery - Actually the first Sakuraba soundtrack that I really loved. Can you dig it?
Day 9 - Saddest game scene.
End of Red Dead Redemption. =\ Such a beautiful ending.
Day 10 - Best gameplay.
Shadow of the Colossus - It's sad that I didn't like Ico and that TLG isn't doing anything for me because SotC was my favorite game of all time. The mixture of open world exploration, platforming, puzzle solving was perfect. It's a really fantastic game.
Day 11 - Gaming system of choice.
Currently the Xbox 360. Multiplayer through xbox live is extremely convenient. Since all of my friends are there, the social integration aspect is super addictive. I have a good mix of japanese and western games, and I can just party netflix when we don't have any games we want to play. A lot of really great XBLA games are available, too. Super Street Fighter HD, Castle Crashers, Puzzle Quest, After Burner Climax, lots of other things. I haven't run out of things to do yet.
Day 12 - A game everyone should play.
Red Dead Redemption
Day 13 - A game you’ve played more than five times.
Chrono Trigger
Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper.
Dragon Age
Day 15 - Post a screenshot from the game you’re playing right now.
Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes.
Hard to answer since I'm not sure if "best" means best looking or ones that I liked. FF13's looked the best, but I absolutely hated how they were directed.
Day 17 - Favorite antagonist.
Saren (Mass Effect) - He is a racist alien who tries to save himself against a horde of giant robots by becoming their slave. Didn't realize he was losing his mind.
Day 18 - Favorite protagonist.
Frank West - See favorite character^
Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.
Day 20 - Favorite genre.
Action/Adventure - Particularly games that take place over the course of a single night or a few short consecutive days...if that makes sense. Think Batman or Dead Rising. >_>
Day 21 - Game with the best story.
Probably Final Fantasy Tactics. I loved it a lot.
Day 22 - A game sequel which disappointed you.
Final Fantasy 13...oh, Final Fantasy 13. :/
Day 23 - Game you think had the best graphics or art style.
Red Dead Redemption's sunsets are pretty amazing.
Day 24 - Favorite classic game.
Secret of Mana - played it with my best friend growing up, we took turns renting it and having sleepovers since neither of us could afford it. Might be what made me love cooperative play so much.
Day 25 - A game you plan on playing.
Dragon Age II - it's going to come out a week before my birthday :D
Day 26 - Best voice acting.
Red Dead Redemption - I'm giving this game a lot of praise :|
Day 27 - Most epic scene ever.
Mass Effect - Shooting through the elevator near the end of the game, and the part that follows
Day 28 - Favorite game developer.
Currently Bioware, but I'd give Rockstar more of a chance if they did less GTA and more other open world games like RDR.
Day 29 - A game you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving.
Red Dead Redemption - again, lots of praise. I /did/ like westerns before playing, so that might've helped.
Day 30 - Your favorite game of all time.
Shadow of the Colossus - It's almost tempting to get a PS3 for the port, but I couldn't justify a new console or all too many new games with my spare cash or schedule. :\ My backlog isn't going to play itself, either.
