Mudslinging disgusts me. The same people I listen to talking about the marriage amendment and forgiveness and loving everyone are the ones who are holding against candidates things they did as teenagers. If this were a true democracy, we would know where each candidate stood on issues and vote based on that, not on how many accusations their ( Read more... )

LOL. I like the plan, its actually not bad.

As for politics, I feel close to the same way. The party system is killing any chance we have of a decent president. We can only hope independants get more chance in upcoming elections.

As for mud slinging, thats why it's so hard for me to vote. What's important to these politicians obviously isn't making my world better, it's simply getting into office. All they want is the power and money. The status. It's like a huge popularity contest in high school, just as worthless and just as superficial.

Even worse than the politicians are the christians. It seems the only christians that have power are the ones that are just bad people. It just seems that the christians/catholics NEVER stop to think about anyone but themselves with a few exceptions (people I know personally that are good people).

If you figure out a way to beat the system, let me know!

I think the B&B might get crowded if everyone comes...then it would become like a commune ;) But maybe we can make a neighborhood of B&Bs and all the Americans can come stay at our B&Bs when they need a break from the moral decline of our nation...party in Canada! woohoo!

Fundamentalism is always bad. It doesn't matter what form it takes. Part of the problem with this country (and, I believe, this President) is that far too many people have an all-or-nothing, dichotimous view of the way things are. This country is as split and divided as it has ever been, and I don't expect things to get better anytime soon.

Fundamentalists on the left and on the right are not open to discuss new possibilities. When you believe you have all the answers and are not interested in learning anything new, the part of you that makes you human has surely died.

Welcome to America, the nation of zombies. God help us.

I don't think I have ever heard you sound so passionate about politics. I like it. I am all for moving to Canada, but until then I agree that people who judge need to do far more research than they do now. It just goes to show that laziness is not confined to anything.
