The people of the united states would be a whole lot happier and a whole lot more united if they got over their election depression and accepted the fact that the people elected yesterday will run things for awhile, and life will go on. I don't know you very well and I do not know what your political convictions are, but I feel that I needed to voice my opinion on your comments. I think I need to fret. I need to complain because I want change. I do accept the elections, I mean, I don't have immediate plans to leave the country, but I can't stay silent. Everyone knows that quote, "if you ignore your right they will go away" and I believe in that statement. Maybe that is not what you were intending to say though. I would just like to add too that even if the person I voted for had gotten elected, I would not stop complaining because I will always want change, I will always hope for a better future. Personally, I do not think in praying that I will find any solace, but in voicing my opinion, letting the world know that I care, that is what I find effective. A more unified country, yes, we need that, but I am not going to give in to things I believe are wrong just so we can get through the next four years more smoothly, just to appease those in charge. I agree with you in that if we just accept things quietly we will lose our rights. I was more responding to the people who are giving themselves ulcers thinking they are going to be drafted tomorrow, and even more to those who are grouching and griping about the outcome and fighting and such rather than working for positive change. I agree that we should voice our opinions, but I don't think grumbling and arguing will create change, only more division. Thanks for your civil reply :) If only everyone were that calm.
