Holy crap, it's July!
This summer has been going so fast, I can hardly believe it. And I have not done nearly as much writing as I wanted to. Phooey.
But here are some quick bullet-pointed updates!
- My creative writing class has kept me very busy with writing original stuff, which is great, but not quite as much fun as writing fic. And it's a little stressful having such rushed deadlines. For example, I have to write a short story by next Tuesday and at the moment all I have is a vague idea and possibly a beginning. Oy vay.
- Fic-wise, I'm hoping that after I finish this next short story I'll be able to get back in the groove. I have a new wee!Dick story in the works based vaguely on the events of Dark Victory (which I just read last night and is pretty damn great, I must say). I've been working on my Jason-centric story, as well, and I'm officially signed up for superbat_bb. That means lots and lots of DC fic-writing in my future. YAY.
- I've also been rereading the Dresden Files (NEW BOOK THIS MONTH, WOOT WOOT) so I have a few Dresden-centric plot bunnies hopping around. Which are actually focused more on Marcone, but eh. Nuance. BUT YAY DRESDEN.
- HARRY POTTER 7.2 COMES OUT NEXT WEEKEND. How in the world did that sneak up on me so fast? I almost don't want to see it, simply because that would be like admitting this is the end and because I cannot bear to watch my favorite characters die (Freeeeeed TT____TT). But who am I kidding? I'll go see it as soon as humanly possible, even if that might not be a midnight showing like I originally planned.
- Still planning on reading Young Avengers at some point. I've been having some timing issues lately, but it will happen. Someday soon, hopefully. (Are we still on for book-clubbing, threepiecesuits?)
- Annnnd. That's it. This bullet point is pointless. Le dee da.
So that's what I've been up to! Not much, considering, but I'm pretty content. I may write and post some drabbles soon - just to keep my fic-chops up - but we'll see.
Off to eat something nutritious before class now. There is melon calling my name. Mmmmmm melon.
