Suggest me a classic album

Since getting my new car I've not had a chance to switch the stereo over to something that can play mp3s. For the moment I've stuck with playing CDs and I've decided to start digging out some classic albums I've not listened to in forever ( Read more... )

Queens Greatest Hits - fab for a long journey as you can forget the cheese and get swept up in a big singalong

Lust for Life - Iggy Pop - just one of my all time favourite albums.

Death Valley High - Zombina and the Skeletones - again just fab.

Leftfield by Leftfield - especially good for motorways

Plus I'm also quite partial to Coreline's second album - especially when en route for visiting relatives. Just gets you in the mood.

Mr Pops reckons the Trainspotting soundtrack as it has all sorts of stuff on it from upbeat down to floaty to suit different traffic situations.

Do you mean Leftism by Leftfield ? That album was on my potential list of ones to go in next anyway, it's really solid.

As for Coreline, is his second album "Bone and Blood as Stone and Mud" ? I love the first track on that but can't claim to have listened all the way through the album that often.

It is Leftism and Bone and etc - I am rubbish at remembering album and song names.

I especially like tracks 3, 6 and 7 on Blood etc.

Anyone who recommends Dire Straits automatically forfeits any rights to musical credance.

My musical credence is that I play the music those make no claim to credence enjoy! Wasteland truly is the home of heretics among heretics. :-)

Plus TBH I was borrowing the Dire Straits recommendation from Coreline, who picked that as part of our driving music through Ireland. Sultans of Swing, Romeo and Juliette, Brothers In Arms - classic stuff.
