I've felt the same...I didn't go on a date till I was 21 and didn't get into an actual relationship till I was 23. Meeting someone online that lives around locally helps. The man I met online is the sweetest guy ever and it's been close to 5 years now since we've been together.

Try online dating. It gives you an opportunity to put yourself out there , but allows you to have options in the people you talk to etc. I met my husband on Black People Meet. It wasnt my first rodeo though. I tried this site and many others without luck, so I gave up. I decided to give it a try, but this time I made it clear in my profile that I was dating for a purpose and only serious applicants apply lol. I worked and Ive been married for 4 years. Swollow that spirit of fear, grab life by the ears and kiss it :)
