Stars Makeup Haven review and pressing pigments

Every now and then, I trawl Youtube for tutorial videos and check out what's new and hot (or train-wreck disgusting, cuz I'm morbid that way) in the world of web videos. And it's no surprise that the tutorial videos I gravitate towards are either about cooking or make-up ( Read more... )

Cool! I never get loose eyeshadow, but at least now I know that if I see something that appeals to me I can put it in a tray instead of passing on it because it's loose.

Also did you see MAC's Wonder Woman line? They have Russian Red lipstick but in the Wonder Woman packaging.

I felt the same, which is why I decided to try pressing them to save space and mess. Most mineral eyeshadows come in loose form, as they don't have binders (which is what the glycerine is) and can be really cheap (I get mine at USD2-4 a pop), but not terribly convenient to carry around. This is a great way to do that.

Not yet! I haven't received the press release for it from the Australian emailing list, but that's awesome! The Aussie branch seems to take awhile, cuz we've only had Peacocky a couple of weeks ago.

I hope they get the stuff in soon, it was really neat although nothing "spoke" to me personally.

I actually want to depot my lipsticks to put in the palette, so I wouldn't care too much for their Wonder Woman range if it's all their usual products, just in different packaging.

I highly doubt it, they probably source in bulk from China. But their product ain't bad at all.

Well that's cheating. :) Can't say Made in USA if it's outsourced to China.

It's not uncommon for the fashion and manufacturing industry to say their product is made in their home nation if they just screw in a nail or sew buttons to an almost finished product that's 99% made in China.
