Are you finding it hard to learn? i've been interested in trying, myself. Are you using a dvorak keyboard or just a qwerty with a different layout?

right now i'm finding it quite difficult. I've only taken up to the "home row" section on my tutorial, though, so here's hoping it gets easier.

I'm using a querty keyboard as is, and changed keyboard settings through windows' control panel. I printed out a cheat sheet to aid me. I didn't want to damage my laptop keyboard by prying off the keys to rearrange them.

I'd recommend starting at a time when you will NOT urgently need to type anything for a few weeks.

Sonya!!!! That's AWESOME! How ever did you manage that? Illustrator is still a mystery for me at times.

Thank you so much! :D

i'm glad you like :). Here are my trade secrets:
-find photo of subject. change brightness and contrast in photoshop.
-Open in illustrator. generalize light and dark areas into shapes. make them transparent so you can still see the photo underneath.
-reset transparency to 100% when finished, and delete the photo.
-find internet photo of PNG. select "auto trace" tool and click around wildly to trace. group shapes and set to back.
-add text.

have a great trip! I'll say a prayer for your safety.
