I like the general article, message, and style. I like how he uses logos, ethos, and pathos himself.
Something that made my skin crawl, though, is that "ethos" would make ad hominem arguments persuasive.
Another set of thoughts that the article spawned was about establishing pathos with a known audience of one vs. a larger / wider audience. By investing a lot of time, I can sometimes do OK when trying to use pathos with a single known entity. I have now idea how to even begin establishing pathos with multiple unknowns except by getting to know each of them individually or mimicking popular media.

For pathos I've been mimicking people I know who are good at it. I haven't much experience with groups and the medium/context matters.
