er... what the hell? are u using starhub? a download speed of 40+kb/s is actually quite fast already. and now its 1000kb/s? CAN HELP ME DOWNLOAD SOME STUFF? xD

and about the norton configuration screen not opening, I got that problem before. There's some viruses that prevent you from opening ur anti-virus programs. try an online scan I think. Or scan with a boot disk.

Or you could wait for more people to answer.

I've been having a dload speed of around 30+kb average for a long time already, so I'm quite used to it. As for the 1000kb/s thing ah... I dunno how it came about... just noticed it when it dloaded several files ranging from 8-16mb in size in seconds.

And no, I'm not using starhub... although will be upgrading to a better service when my bro gets his new com, around 1500kb or more, depending on how my parents feel. For me, the current speed's ok... but there're some people who've been niaoish and complaining a speed of 1.1mb/s is slow -_-

Tried some online scans, but after scanning, it refuses to clear the stuff found for me unless I buy the product or smth. So... unless you can recommend some proggies... I don't really know what to use.

a rather good free virus scanner to try out would be AVG, at www.grisoft.com. Expectedly the functions aren't as comprehensive as Norton, but well.

your sudden increase in dl speed is disturbing. its almost as fast as mine now -_-. did your parents get an upgrade or something? seems impossible for a modem catering to 512kbps to suddenly dl stuff at 1mbyteps.

Its alright really... How old is ur com? If its more than 3 years then just use it and bear with it... Your com has been worth the money... Most coms last only 3 years...

Thankfully, my com is perfectly fine, except for those problems which occur like... quite rarely, and therefore do not bother me much. Just wanted to know what's causing them and all that. So nothing to bear with really ^^

And I forgot how old it is. Don't really care, as long as it works its fine with me.
