His voice... his face... the emotions it awakens in him...
He can't bear it anymore.
Everytime he walks into the room, the same feelings engulf him; a wonderful disarray of rainbows, the sun after the rain... He smiles at him, and he smiles back, and tomorrow the routine will be the same as usual... but something is important is missing...
Another month comes... another set of photoshoots, the both of them paired with different people... the wistful glances shot at each other's backs... the forced smiles they paste on their faces... the image of the idol they had become, masking the children that they really are...
"Otsukaresamadeshita!"
They leave separately, travelling paths that not too long ago were taken by the both of them, often hand in hand, laughing about their day. But now, a solitary streetlight lends each of them light as they grapple their way home...
Broken hearts, hidden thoughts, unread love letters...
Sometimes it's just too much...
He had finally had enough.
One day after work, when the others had already gone home, he went back to their dressing room, the silence of the jimusho echoing around him. Ignoring the comfortable chair, he sat himself on the floor, pulling his legs to his chest and burying his face in his knees. All the things that happened came pouring in... and tears started pouring down his face. He rocked silently, the sadness taking over his entire being. In between sobs, he took in big lungfuls of air.
"Boku no... kokoro wa... ittai yo..." he whispered to himself.
Cold...
It was so cold...
He was then surprised when suddenly, a pair of arms embraced him from behind. New tears trickled down his face as the owner of the arms hugged him tighter, whispering soothing nothings into his ears. What he was doing here, why he was here, how he knew he was here, it didn't matter anymore... The warmth was back, and he knew that it would never be cold again.
"Gomen ne... aishiteru yo..."
He smiled, and the two of them existed in a place only the two of them shared...
Sometimes we need to experience both sides of the soundtrack of life... That's why rainbows come after the rain... :)
