As some of you know, I have to reinstall Sims 2 to be able to install OFB. Unfortunately, the disk and booklet were lost to the deep recesses of my brother's room. I found the CD, but still need the booklet for the code. Sigh, here we go again...

Make your brother clean his room and help you look. ;)

Future reference: if you don't have the cases any more, put the cd inside the instructions booklet and put all of them in a big manilla folder and stash them somewhere. That's what I do when I burn backup cd's for my computer.

lol, well my brother's in college right now so that might be kind of hard ;)
Yeah, that's a good idea. I've done that with the expansions but the install code's been AWOL for a year or so. I know it's still around, but where?...

Or you could write the code right on the disc in Sharpie marker. :)

Not that I do that -- but on all my reinstalls, it hasn't asked for the code even once. Maybe it's different on Macs? I just tell it "Never register" when it asks and that's the end of it. *Of course* I registered on the first install! But if I tried to re-register now, the exchange wouldn't even let me on because it doesn't talk to Macs anymore.

Oh, maybe I should try that then! But I'm worried that if I uninstall it and can't find the code, I'll be stuck without a game until I can get another copy. But maybe I'll try over the week and then I won't have time to play anyway ;)

Well, I wouldn't recommend it if you're not sure. Macs and PCs are different, after all. *nods wisely* But maybe after you find the booklet you can try it, and then if it doesn't work you've got the booklet and if it does, then you know.

I do have all the codes for all my discs readily accessible, just in case I ever need them. It never hurts to be prepared...

Last time I reinstalled it wanted codes - but what it actually wanted was for the code boxes to be filled. Try filling them with a row of x's. I'm running windows Vista on my PC.

Also, try a registration code for one of your other EP's. (You can test this: for example, uninstall Seasons, then use the Bon Voyage code to re-install it.)
