I went to this thing at Queen's last night with my friend Jenn, an artist from Montreal who studied painting and sculpture here. The ticket for both of us was $135, which she paid. Drinks weren't free, and the hors d'oeuvres were pretty crappy. Everyone who bought a ticket got to take home a piece of art, which were given away on a raffle basis. (First person picked gets first choice, and so on.) There were about 200 pieces, including one that she donated herself, and they were incroyable. This dude in fourth year contributed two pieces, and only one of them was selected. I bought the one that was left over off of him for twenty bucks, because he wouldn't let me pay him more than that. Here is the point of this long and not-so-interesting story: the piece that I bought off of him is called 80 Minute Outro, and it's four prints of the album cover from My Bloody Valentine's You Made Me Realise EP with a ticket stub from their last show superimposed over it, all done in black and white. I love it so.fucking.much. I wish I had a digital ( ... )

what kind of prints are they? silkscreen? do you know? i want to see them!

are you still planning on moving to toronto? i'm moving into a sweet house down the street from me, i think. it costs, uh, kind of a lot (but just a little more than i pay now), but hopefully i'll get the job that it's rumoured is going to be offered to me, and then i'll be able to afford to like, eat and buy soap until i can get out of the insurance industry.

I don't know where I'm going to be living in the near future. I'm going to try and weasel out of my lease here by May, because my job ends then, and start work at my new job that I don't have yet. If that doesn't work, I'll be stuck here until the end of August. Barf. I've applied to lots of places in downtown Toronto, but I've also applied for jobs in K-W, Guelph, and Kingston, to keep my options open. Ideally I'll get an internship at Queen's Park, but I have to be realistic and not expect to get a job that 97% of qualified applicants will not get ( ... )

team massimo also has its giant italian owner who sits around watching jerry springer all the time. I'm sure he could shrug threateningly in someones direction?

and you weren't supposed to tell that secret! were you?

i think it's maybe okay for me to tell the secret now, since it already happened. and also, i think in the end it turned out that it wasn't actually a date, though i wasn't totally clear on how that happened...
