1. What was the first car your family had?
First I actually remember was dad's Datsun 260 Z. Brown. Speedometer went up to 160, and oh how I wanted to find out if that was accurate. He still has it in a garage with plans to restore it.

2. What was the name of your first pet and why?
Choco. A little psycho Chihuahua. he would chase German Shepherds, and they would run, unsure and frightened of the little demon biting at their legs. Loved that dog.

3. What did you want to be when you grew up?
A golfer. Because it looked easy. Hey, I was 6- all i knew was that they hit a ball with a stick, then walked after it and hit it again.

4. What was the name of your elementary school?
Oh good lord.... Frederica Academy, a ritzy little private school, then to public school in grade 5 at Burroughs-Mollette.

5. Who was your first best friend?
My first? Sheesh, man, i'm 35, you want me to remember this kid of thing? I had some kids I called friends in early grades... I remember Carey Howell, going over to his place a few times. I think that's the earliest I can remember.

6. Are you still friends today, and if not, what happened?
Pfft. Never saw him again after 4th grade. No idea about him now.

7. What was your favorite board game?
I didn't play too many board games, being an only child. "Mousetrap" was fun, but not actually playing it, just setting up that little Rube Goldberg device and letting it run. I remember "Ker-Plunk", which had to be immensely annoying to my parents, and of course "Operation". which I still have.

8. Did you play house or other make believe games?
House? Bah. I had a lot of Matchbox cars. Then came 1977, and like so many, Star Wars changed my life. I had a lot of Star Wars toys, and would play with those for hours. I also remember having the soundtrack to "The Jungle Book", all the dialogue and everything- my friends and I would sit around and re-enact the movie with little plastic animals. I didn't have a black panther, so for some unknown reason a giraffe would sit in for Bagheera. Don't ask me why, I don't know. I just liked giraffes.

9. Were you a Dungeons and Dragons geek?
Eh. I liked the idea of it more than playing it, plus I really had no-one to play with. I had (still have, actually) the original Monster Manual, Fiend Folio, and Deities & Demigods handbooks, which I would read incessantly.

10. Did you sleep with stuffed animals as a kid?
A couple. I had a well-worn Paddington Bear, as well as most of his books.

11. Do you still sleep with stuffed animals?
There's a stuffed frog in the bed these days, belonging to Jenna. Not sure why- I think it's because the kitten doesn't like being held immobile for long periods of time.

12. Who was the first person you looked up to when you were younger?
Everyone. I was short.

13. Who was your favorite relative?
My Nonee- my grandmother on my dad's side. Spent a lot of time there growing up.

14. Were you short or tall in elementary school?
Hah. Short.

15. Were you teased in school?
My name was Kermit. What the fuck do YOU think?

16. What was the name of your favorite teacher?
Mr. Richie, my first Latin teacher, was pretty cool- he had Pink Floyd posters on the wall, and used examples from Police songs in his teaching. In retrospect, he probably smoked a lot of dope.

Mary Martin was my high school English teacher who was probably the best. Brilliant and kind, and inspiring. Loved Paul Simon, and used his lyrics as poetry examples. Went to England with her with my class as a senior trip. She was tragically killed in an accident in England about 5-6 years later on one of those same trips. If I ever win the lottery, or come into a good deal of money, I've always sworn i'd create a scholarship for my old high school in her name.

17. What was the name of your least favorite teacher?
I don't remember her name. She wasn't a bitch or anything, just very, very dull. teachers with no interest in what they teach, shouldn't.

18. What was your best subject in school?
English. Art.

19. What was your worst subject in school?
Math.

20. Did you do well in Physical Education?
Pretty well, when I wasn't getting taunted or pushed around in weight lifting.

21. Were you clumsy when you were younger?
A tad. I was a chubby kid, until middle school or so, but then I took gymnastics and dance.

22. Who was your favorite band as a kid?
The first albums I ever got were Def Leppard's "Pyromania" and Prince's "Purple Rain", which, of course, you had to turn down at the end lest your parents hear the lyrics to "Darling Nikki". I was facinated by them, personally... "..met her in a hotel lobby, masturbating with a magazine..." Really? Did you? She was? Like... with the magazine, or just looking at it? And what kind of hotel was this, anyhow?

I love Prince.

23. What was your favorite movie as a kid?
Star Wars. Duh. Had the sheets, curtains, PJ's, etc.

24. Did your parents read to you?
I think so. I honestly don't remember. I know they at least had many books around that I read voraciously.

25. Did you have a favorite book?
There were so many- I spent hours and hours and hours in the library. D'aulaires' books of Greek and Norse mythology were favorites.

26. What was your favorite restaurant as a kid?
Uh. Uh. Twin Oaks? Little bar-B-Q place downtown. Excellent fries.

27. What TV or movie star did you have a crush on?
I remember that Wonder Woman made me feel funny.

28. Do you now wonder what you were thinking?
About the crush? Hell no. Linda Carter's still hot.

29. Who was your first crush in school?
Girl named Jennifer Holmes. Blue eyes, nicknamed "Furfi" by her little sister who couldn't say "Jennifer". No joke. Was my ideal as best-looking-girl-ever until high school or so.

30. As a child, what kind of car did you want when you grew up?
A motorhome. No kidding.

31. Did your parents spank you?
Yes, with occasional threats of much more from my father. He had quite the temper.

32. Did your parents fight a lot when you were a kid?
Nah.

33. Did your parents get divorced or stay married?
Still married.

34. If they got divorced, how old were you when it happened?
Nope.

HAHAHA. And go where?

36. How old were you when/if you first got glasses?
Nope

37. Did you need braces or a retainer?
Had braces. About 14.

38. If you're male, how old were you when you had your first wet dream?
LOL. Never had one. Ever. Nobody ever believes me about this.

39. Both sexes when did you start shaving?
About 15-16.

40. Girls when did you start wearing a bra?
Um.

41. What was your first kiss like?
Relatively non-eventful. I was 15, and I kissed her cheek.

42. What did you do on your first date?
Went to see "The Gods Must Be Crazy", a funny little african comedy. In retrospect, I must have been crazy as well. I had a taste for esoteric movies then, too.

43. How old were you when you first drank?
Fifteen? Sixteen? Maybe some filched hooch at a sleepover around 12-13 or so.

44. Where was your first house?
Enterprise street.
