"In satire, human or individual vices, follies, abuses, or shortcomings are held up to censure by means of ridicule, derision, burlesque, irony, or other methods, ideally with the intent to bring about improvement. Although satire is usually meant to be funny, the purpose of satire is not primarily humour in itself so much as an attack on something of which the author strongly disapproves, using the weapon of wit." It's true, it said so on wiki

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAKING JOKES ABOUT SOMETHING, AND RIDICULING SOMETHING FOR THE PURPOSE OF HIGHLIGHTING ITS SHORTCOMINGS. CAN YOU MENTION ONE INSTANCE WHERE HETALIA TAKES A POLITICAL, PHILOSOPHICAL, MORAL STANCE ON ANYTHING? CAN YOU? I DIDN'T THINK SO.

LEARN YOUR WORDS. GERMANY AND JAPAN HAVING A WACKY DIETING REGIME IS NOT WWII SATIRE.

I suppose some of Korea's strips could count, but he's the one we don't like to talk about. And they still wouldn't be representative for the intention behind the rest of the series.

- It should not make me gleeful that France's character CD is released before America's (assuming the katakana chart did not lie to me. And since his previews are up now, it probably didn't). I don't care; I am, because his Maru Kaite Chikyu was not utter fail. You just got to admire how they tried to turn something going at God-knows-how-many BPM into stereotyped French Café music. It's the most bizarre accordion I have ever heard, and I've heard accordion do Toccata and Fugue. Yes, gentle readers, Nii-san has also captured my heart as of the Bastille Day picture with the wine glass. No, I didn't think I was this shallow either.

- Should I talk about the previews? Okay: I LOVE IT. I'm not sure what to think about that, since all the other previews left me with varying degrees of "what the fuck did I just listen to", except probably Japan's, which I can't remember at all (and turned out to be wonderful). Logic would dictate that it just can't be as good as it sounds, because it sounds like epic. Of course, I never quite had the same relationship to him after I realized that he shared the voice of another man who just doesn't get the love he deserves from whatever fandom might have existed. Because he deserves an entire fandom just for himself, obviously (here in Image Song duet with Tomokazu Seki).

- I don't need to talk much about England's because I still like Japan's better, even though "Invincible English Gentleman" (?) might be the best song they've had yet (sorry, Germany). But comparing "Pub and Go" to the Tomato Song is heresy. Go hence and don't come back to talk about me about image songs until you've been through Digimon's entire discography and "Futari de la la la".

- I'm not sure what it says about me that when I think "American music", I don't think hip-hop, blues or even banjos. Oh no, I think marching bands, even though I don't dare hope.

- I'm not sure what excites me more, the Romi + Rie combo, the fact that Austria and Prussia's are together (either full orchestra or elborate piano and, I expect, something like the Awesome Song Sung by Me or whatever the title was), that Chibitalia and HRE are going to be singing or that Poland is going to be in the fucking anime. No, okay, I do know what excites me the most. I'm not complaining about more Liet, either.

- Those cast talk whatever upped the "cute" factor of the show just because of hearing Austria's voice laughing. A lot.

- You know what else is cute? Of course you do. I'm not expecting to see much more of him since all his appearances (bar the one where he drags the dog home) are set during historical events that would require storage-cleaning-esque animation. But on the other hand, those would also be one of Poland's major apperances outside of the main storyline, so there could be some hope.

- Oh God, I hope this is going to mean a series of jokes about Lithuania and Poland's dorky friendship ala Switzerland and Liechtenstein's dorky siblingship. Because... because they wouldn't be making him sing if he's not going to be in the anime, right? We can only hope that all the island episodes are going to mean that they're putting their animation budget into something historical, since all of Prussia's appearances are pre-WWI, too. Well, most of them, and I will cry if they don't at least do the Salted Salmon/dieting debacle.

- Insert squeeage about the Trembling Trio and Russia here. Russia was surprisingly less psycho than I expected. Estonia + tea = <3. I hope there will be more of them.

- ...also, England is facing the American army alone in the manga, too. Just FYI.
