I finally found a trailer for the local dub of Rapunzel (shut up that's the name), and it - the dub - sounds like I'm going to hate it. Not the bad anime dubbing kind of bad, but Disney were always the brilliant ones and it is disheartening if they're just average ten years later (through efforts no doubt great, they've even managed to come up with

Disney's dub are pretty good here as well, so I feel your pain! (and Megamind is funny ^^)

I cling to the hope that it was just the trailer it was something wrong with and that it was trying to sell the film as something it wasn't.

Megamind looks funny, but I've been bitter about the Dreamworks standard of animated film for ten years :/

Megamind is hilarious in the beginning, drags a little in the middle, then is self-aware about its ending predictability. Overall, I thought it was pretty good, and produced exactly what it wanted to be.

That said, it's not quite what the previews made it out, so I was a little surprised it was the kind of comedy it was. Then again, I don't know if the previews are different across the pond but the story will probably not be what you entirely expect. :)

It's not Megamind as much as how I have this feeling that all Dreamworks films really work on the same formula, and it didn't charm me with Madagascar. Since I haven't seen anything Dreamworks after that, I should probably not be having too loud opinions about it *g* and then, I'm also rather cold on CG animation in general. The main reason I'm planning to see the Disney one is that the concept art looked gorgeous two years ago.
