I am so sorry that this had to happen. I'm more than a bit perturbed that they didn't even look at the fact that your sign on was used in a stupidly small proportion, comparatively speaking. I mean, I can understand a zero tolerance kind of attitude towards it, but come on, there has to be SOME leeway.

*sigh* Management sucks.

I'm sorry, Larry. Let me know if there's anything that I can do for you from way over here other than offer you mental and emotional support. If you want someone to talk to, my phone is always open to you.

*hug*

Larry, I am *very* sorry to hear this. Yeah, they fucked you over. If you haven't yet, definitely file for unemployment ASAP. Are you able to network with any friends in the hotel biz? Yes, this sucks big-time... especially at this time of year. Definitely look into applying for EBT/food stamps. Nothing wrong with using programs out there to help folks. I do hope something comes along for you very quickly!

Yeah, that seems to vary from state to state. It won't hurt to find out, though - and it could be a couple hundred or so a month to help out, ya know? The job market is still very tough out there, but it is getting better.

Geez. You'd think the people in the higher-up positions would have such knee-jerk reaction. That is such a broad-brushstroke decision impacting so many. I think case-by-case evaluation was in order.

Sorry, bud.

That blows, but is very much in line with the way the corporate world treats their staff. Not that that helps much, but at least it's further reinforcement that it's not about you personally.

You should definitely file for unemployment. Do it ASAP, there's a waiting period before they start paying benefits. You can do it all online now.

And make sure you don't whiz through the reapplication process when you file every two weeks. It is easy to mess up. Make sure you read every question and answer properly.
