The Internet as prayer circle...

I've invoked it multiple times, and joined in on it even more - but that thought struck me this morning.  How we've come to use technology in pursuit of the most primal spiritual urge...  to invoke the Powers That Be towards a favorable outcome ( Read more... )

I have often thought of this with the advent of FB...LJ... and what that feeling of connected means... actually writing and laughing and loving from afar...how does it affect one? Can technology overcome distance? Can it make the distance of 2 hours drive, or across the world seem closer? Can it bear the weight of tradegy and joy? Will it ease our burden? Is it any different than being in a grocery store and telling people about our worries and gathering a crowd that shares in your concern.

I don't know. I think to the wakes we have both attended and there was healing power there...

to ask is to take action when you feel hopeless and without power. Asking for hope, love, energy, prayer, well that is taking back some of the power...and for lots of people... I believe it helps...what...I am not sure that matters, because it still helps.

I love you so...and sending my heart from a distance to you and Chris and his beloveds...
