about a week ago i found out that i won an honorarium for filmmaking from the Princess grace of monaco foundation. crazy. they only give away 4 or 5 awards a year and i got $2000!!! i'm totally going to buy a G5. so that was kickass, and then to celebrate, i went to a new years eve party at some of my buddies' house. i got totally wasted and ( Read more... )

HEY! i only wore the fanny once, ok? OK? i didn't have any pockets because i was unwittingly track chic, and and just because chicago is pomo and everyone in ma is hoodies and jeans forever, i mean, c'mon!

ah congrats on the princess grace award!
I got on eof those too-- did you go to the ceremony already? Mine was NUTS. Ashley Judd was the mistress of ceremonies.

what did you win the prize for? an animated film?(I found you thru a search for 'experimental animation')

thanks! it was experimental narrative stuff w/ interspersed animation. when did you get yours? they haven't officially announced the award yet, so i guess it's still kind of on the down-low. i bet your ceremony was crazy- i want to go soooo bad but the head of PGF said that the honorarium winners weren't invited. what's with that?! sucks. so did the award help you out a lot? give you a good reputation or something like that?
i'm curious. i've never met anyone who's gotten one.

yeah- I think it's one of the coolest awards you can get. The best news in it for animation is that Stephen Hillenberg got the award and went on to do spongebob squarepants. the film he won it for 'wormholes' is brilliant. What's your film about?
