When my mom bought our house a couple years ago, it was a 2 bedroom, with an unfinished basement. Since then I've built two bedrooms in the basement and when I did my bedroom for the first time, I was kind of strapped for cash, and my mom could have cared less about the state of the basement so we finished it with whatever materials we had left.
