Movie-weekend, again

Now, finally. When did I last spend a weekend glued to the computer watching films? It was about time again. Last thursday I rented "The Seawolf" , a remake of an old German classic. It is an adaption of a Jack London novel, so I might tell you from the start, I had to fast forward the copious amount of beatings.

He's so gorgeous. I can recommend The SeaWolf, if you can bear the beating and the sailing. :)
I've started on the Ben Hur now, I'm such a sucker for dudes in togas, I tell you.

Well, I'm a sucker for good sailing movies (hence my sekrit love for 'Master & Commander'), so thanks for the rec! :-) Will keep an eye out for it.

I joined LJ to become a member of the several MandC and Age of sail communities.

BTW, I just finished watching the Ben Hur. Funny stuff. They say very un-roman things like "okay" all the time. (But I don't really mind, they do so in "Merlin", too.) But they're really mmmmh in their togas. I recommend. The regie is by the same man who made "The Tudors" so it has some similarities.

I saw that Pro7 has partly financed the miniseries, too, so maybe it'll be on German TV sometime this year.
