Despite not having a lot of faith in people, the results of the election on Tuesday set the bar to a new low. I could rant and rave about how stupid and lacking in foresight the outcome was, but there really isn't a point. I've done my share of that in advance to the election. And really, I can't complain--Bush won fairly, as far as I know. I ( Read more... )

mm, although i've always identified more with the republicans than the democrats, i have to commend you for your reasoning. i do agree that peace in iraq is a far-off fantasy, and i don't exactly understand why we're in iraq in the first place. i think that maybe we should stop trying to be team america & start trying to be america.

it's almost as if the government sees us as above needing help and has gotten bored, decided to play with the other countries instead.

... i don't think i like either political party, really. i just think we should have guns & abortion should be legal (though i don't think i'd do it, i could imagine cases where it would be possible) & everyone should be able to get married, although marriage has become such a superficial thing.

in any case, i miss you & things

Oh, guns should most definitely be legal! "An armed society is a polite society." Really, banning guns, especially in a country with as many of them as here, would just make things more dangerous. If you look at disarmed countries, like Japan, people still have guns, and they aren't being used for hunting.

Opinions like that are why I don't really subsribe to either the Democratic (or what remains of that) or the Republican. I don't really subscribe to being "liberal" or "conservative"--I think that they are too limiting of terms. They are useful for broad strokes--I'd say I'm liberal before I'd say I'm conservative--but people use them as specific monikers for themselves, it's sad really.

I miss you too! don't be shy, I'm online a lot. And I think you have my number. I need a calling card.
