The natural lighting I think is the big issue, it just tends to wash out all the color. There are ways to fix it in post production if you have the right software, but if you don't it is what it is. I honestly think your video was better than several of the top ten winners, the only real discernible edge they had over yours is that their colors popped. In music video formats visuals are generally more important than narrative, especially when you use a linear narrative. Basically if you'd had access to either better lighting or beefier editing software, this would have or at least should have been a top contender. So, while you've probably gotten over it by now, you can rest assured that the issues here have more to do with your resources than any serious failure in writing, directing, or acting
