Worst of all, I drive my friends nuts by sitting down and watching Pirates of the Caribbean, and trying to figure out when the hell it's supposed to be set (yeah, I know historical accuracy isn't exactly the focus...and you know, the whole undead pirates thing...) I'm such a total dork.
(Also, going into museum studies does the same thing...now I simply can't go to a museum exhibit and not be driven crazy by everything that's wrong...I can't just enjoy it! Augh!)
Thankfully, I don't know enough about historical costuming to have that problem, but I definately get distracted by design of all kinds in movies: costume, graphic, set and sometimes even lighting. Unfortunately, good movies will often be so well designed that all I can focus on is how perfect the world-building is.
i totally empathize with your problem with historic films...the worst i have seen thus far has been some sixties version of Nathaniel Hawthorne novel, where the female lead turned around and-*ack*-lo and behold was a huge metal zipper running down the middle of her back.
that being said, my friends have banned me from making comments whenever we go to the movies if the film is historic. you have to be careful, or you lose friends this way. :)

Then I sat back and enjoyed Norrington. ;)

And then when you combine me with a friend of mine who knows a ton about the (actual) history of piracy, and then our heads really explode. ;-)
But the Norrington saves it all. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
