Father hands over an envelope but doesn’t leave.
Spot the university insignia on the corner.
Stomach goes aflutter.
Sit up, spine straight, muscles tight.
Open slowly.
Read quickly.
Slump back down.
Long exhale.
Smile.
Acceptance!
Funny how simple --yet momentous-- it is.

does this mean your dad pays?
what does that mean?
his job? don't you expect it
don't get all the "depth" young people put on things that are just responsibility.
like mother's day cards or god forbid a phone call on the cell that is free long distance
should just be something that is done, cause you love you're Mommy

The subject of the journal entry was receiving an acceptance letter from a university. I'm not sure exactly what it is you are talking about (or what it is you think you read).
However, I am happy to inform you that there are many therapies available that should be helpful in resolving your transference issues. Good luck with that!
P.S. My love for my mother has never been in doubt. And I'd just like to give you a big THANK YOU for making me cry again, cause God knows this month isn't hard enough with the anniversary of my mother's death and Mother's Day, you had to go bring up the fact that I no longer have a mom to hug and kiss and talk to and give cards to. Thanks a lot!
