I had TV & American Society with Pilson. I thought she was a good lecturer and the topic was interesting, at least to me since it's telecom. It's basically about the history of tv and its effects on people. If you get the same textbook as I had the reading shouldn't be too hard. Plus the tests were pretty easy. If you're not into the subject though you may think it's boring. But hey, it's tv and that's cool so I hope you like it. =)

Is TV & American Society alot of text book reading work? IS everythign based on test grades or is there class participation/attendance grades and do you have to do papers? Also is Pilson nice>?...

it's texbook reading and a course packet with individual journal type readings. it wasn't too bad though. everything is based on test grades. she didn't take roll because there were too many people. i don't remember having to do a paper but i took it a couple years ago so maybe things have changed. she's really nice too.

lol they're all classes I took for Communications major. Research methods might be a bit of a drag if you're not into statistics stuff (I kinda like it). But all the other classes should be fun. EXPECT a liberal bias in "TV & America Society" I took a similar class (Media Effects) and my prof was such a liberal conspiracy theorist to the extreme (even for me!). But then again, wait till first or second class before making final decision, I'd advise.

I've been in college for 3 years now. I know to expect a liberal bias in almost every class exceot for business classes. I've had maybe 3 or 4 conservative professors in my whole time at UF.

I'm so glad I have a prof in INternpersonal communication whjo is apolitical and claims she knows nothign about politics. FOr me, that is actually a relief. It seems like every prof I've had, has some kinda political persuasion and I can usually tell.
