why is there a 20% difference between believing in god and believing in the devil?

that is actually very common. it can even be seen in national surveys. apparently more people are willing to believe in some form of god before they are willing to believe in a devil. it makes sense if you think about it, all religions have a god (/goddess or gods) but not all of them have a devil. christians, however, have the tendency to think that people either believe in both or neither without separation.

I think that allthings7x17 explained it perfectly.

Also, I didn't expect 91% or whatever to say they believed in God. Quite a few agnostics/athiests and Others put "Yes" for God. BUT, I think its b/c I made it "liberal sounding" by saying "or a good force". Same w/ the Devil. It got people who were HIndus ( I had 1 or 2 answer the survey) or other religions that don't believe in the Christian or Jewish God to answer "yes"

these results kind of tells you where the republican party is heading when our generation takes power... coolIn what way are you talking about? Are you saying the Repubs are gonna be the dominant party b/c the Repubs won in this survey of 69 people 46%-30% AND 60% said they don't want the gov't getting into their wallets ( ... )
