There are some things that have been going on lately that I don't understnad WHy they're a big deal or understand why people did those things.

omg the thing about Bush seriously pissed me off, I personally think the Democrats are making a big deal because they didn't think of the idea themselves. and everyone is so worried that our country is going to be run by a dictatorship, well in a way it kinda is because we aren't allowed to express ourselves, and people are so sue happy it's just pathetic.

In school surprisingly we actually learned all about buddhism and taoism and all that and are actually reading a book about some person who wrote about his experience of exscaping slavery.

Well, the Dems are pissed off that it wasn't Clinton or another Dem who won the war against Saddam Huissein b/c Clinton would exploit every picture he could get out of it. Pretty much any politician would. Michael Dukakis drove in a military tank in 1988 to show that he was "pro-military"...

Now what do you mean by that? Be more explicit. Are you referring to political correctness. I don't know if its really a "dictatorship" per se, but its eroding at our freedom of speech.

Points very well made. All I have to say is that basically, the first amendment is in effect unless you don't like it... or at least that's how everyone feels. They can say all they want to but if someone says something they don't like, that person doesn't deserve that right. Know what I mean?

I see what you're saying. I think that peopel only want the 1st Amendment to apply to thigns they support b/c thye are ignorant about the constitution and freedom of speech. If we had proper civics educaiton in this country, then people would know that freedom of speech applies to EVERYONE, even people you disagree with...
