We all remember the joy we had when Lynn told us that "Nighrunners" would get a film adaptation and I'm sure I'm not the only one mightily disappointed when it ended up not happening

I suppose Lynn Flewelling would be willing, at least the last comment I remember reading by her about the topic was that she was saddened that it wouldn't happen (yet). - I think the rights expired at the time she announced it wouldn't get done, but we could search her tags and find out

Yes, I have doubts about the budgeting, too. And some low budget production... I just think it's already very difficult to adapt it to screen in a way that would satisfy LF and fans both, but a low budget would makes things even worse. And recently they are messing up so many books - look at all those YA adaptations, they look great at first glance but then... :( I wouldn't want that. Before they mess it up, I'd rather not have a movie at all :/ (which doesn't mean I wouldn't want one at all or that I wasn't really looking forward to it when there were still plans). Even a mini-series... unless some company like Starz or HBO suddenly fall in love with the books and decide to do it, I'm not so sure about it.
I might sound like I don't want an adaptation at all, but once again that's not it. But these are some of my absolutely most favourite books in the whole wide world, and it would be horrible if someone messed them up, hence, I'd rather have none, than having an adaptation just for the sake of having it adapted to screen.
I think we can agree that we'd *love* a well done film. And I wouldn't mind adding a bit of money to the collection. But I know I couldn't afford much - and I fear most others wouldn't be able to afford huge amounts either. - It's not even that I would mind if things weren't exactly the way I remember them from the books, I've long accepted that some things will be changed even with the high budget stuff.
I think a mini-series sounds like the most doable version. But even with that, I, too, am not sure. I'd want it to be done well. And I'd hate to miss out on some of my favourite scenes. Particularly the bigger and small gestures of love between Alec and Seregil as they're growing closer. And then imagine they get everything done nicely. And the guys don't have any chemistry with each other. -_- (I really am I worst-case-scenario person, aren't I?)
I think for crowd funding we could trust on tumblr - nope. Not making this up. I really mean it; thankfully, it is NOT soley consisted of 14-years old but to a good chunk of people who can afford to chip in 50 bucks or so, maybe even more. If one manages to keep quality and costs of production in an even relation... (just the more reason for a lesser-known, young, talented cast peppered with one or two bigger names as supporting cast; it's hella lot cheaper; plus ... other reasons
