I Might Lose My Damned Job

I totally wouldn't be worried about losing my job if I were you. Wasn't your fault, end of story. Looks like they need a better security system, not new employees who would take just the same actions you did.

Honey, I don't think you will lose your job over something like that. You did everything you are supposed to, checked to be sure they didn't have anything as much as you could, and reported the loss. If t hey try to fire you there is really no ground. What were you supposed to do, strip search them? You can't even call the cops on them unless you have proof, at least that is true in RI.

When I was working for Office Depot had a woman who used to come in once every two weeks in a huge coat, long skirts, and heavy shirts and wander through the printer ink area for hours. We all knew she was taking things, but she would duck into the restroom then check out only a few items. My boss even walked out trying to stop her when she set off the alarm once and she ran through the parking lot screaming "rape" so that he had to stop before somebody called the cops on him.

That happened to me once when the store I was working in was packed with people. Bending over to do something, somebody reached over my head and grabbed a Playstation, and walked out. The staff realised too late and couldn't get to him. All that was a left was a recording of me bent over while he took his prize merely inches away from me.

Didn't help that I was a week into the job too.
