20th Century Fox and the Leaked Tentpole

For those who have not heard, 20th Century Fox has endured a pretty disastrous April Fool's Day. Last last night, a high-quality work print of the company's summer tentpole X-Men Origins: Wolverine was leaked onto various torrent websites. Hmmm...I will go with total flop. I rarely see anything in the theater, and hearing it compared to X3 isnt encouraging me to make this one of the exceptions. I was really hoping for something good...

Ye gads! I may or may not have just finished watching a copy that Kevin may or may not have downloaded.

I didn't hate it. Better than X3 by a long shot, and the thing was clearly only half finished. Untextured pre-vis CGI, temporary score, subtitles for unrecorded dialogue, wires still visible. It was entertaining. And there's 20 minutes of material missing, apparently. DAMMIT, I thought it had looked awful and now I actually want to see the stupid thing in the theatre. Balls.

I would consider myself one of those fans who progressively grew to hate each X-Men movie and after the third one, I swore to not be bothered to watch anymore.

The leaked movie actually made it here where the piracy market is still thriving. Very few have voiced out their frustrations over it but everyone else seems to be unaffected.

Deep down, I pray it's a massive flop.
