the odd thing is, I just did part of a question for phys. homework today on this. and one of the things i put in to my answere was (simmulr to what ace said) "just because you have a 'right' way of doing things dosent meen its the only 'right' way to do it." something my dad should learn.......

any who I fully agree with you and ace on this, I had a women at the airport today who offered me 'the book of jeuse*sp*' (no not god) and all i could think of was her then saying something about saving my imortal soul. (dint stay around her long eungf to see) and that got me thinking, and i spent over an hour thinking on this >.< (no offence to ace ( ... )

"Evil is a Christian concept, nothing more."

For the record, the concept of "evil" predates both Christianity and Judaeism.

It's very hard to find even an atheistic philosopher who doesn't have a concept of "evil," whether it's called that or not. The ones you can find are typically so flawed logically that they're not worth spending any time on.

I was talking evil in the sense that Christians view it. Plato and Aristotle believed in good and bad. Bad is different than evil in my view.

Along with everything else, I find the arrogance of religion incredibly disturbing. There are people who honestly, truly believe that the entire universe exists just for humanity, and that they are the specific parts of humanity most favored. The people who say "God will reveal himself to you eventually" fail to realize just how smug and arrogant that statement is, as they leave open no potential for them to be wrong.
