withdrawing is an appropriate response sometimes. so is insomnia. the title of this post makes me laugh, although it was probably not a good feeling that prompted you to write it. i have felt that way but the word "demented" never occurred to me. i always say the less poetic "i am probably going crazy," and then start thinking about how i hate the word "crazy". demented is much better.
his parents live in California. Sometimes I do agree with the hikikomori. I don't think one has to go outside all the time, or interact. i think we, as humans, have forgotten that we do need time to ourselves. Spending hour and after surround by other people, their needs, their emotions, their issues for years on end, it might take a bit to clear ourselves.
"i don't like it when people make fun of people who believe in 'intelligent design.' i think a lot of liberals feel superior because they don't believe in 'intelligent design.' if you go to a liberal fundraiser and especially a literary one everyone will make jokes about how george bush is stupid and that intelligent design is stupid and that's what they'll say, pretty much, that 'george bush is stupid' and 'intelligent design is stupid,' and everyone will laugh and feel proud at how good they are and how their group is better than the other group of people.
