you know...I've never even been to the doctor for sprained ankles...and, from people I"ve been around who DID and "rested" it as instructed..I healed A LOT faster. I've always just raised and ice/heat(I always forget which and ask my mom, lol) just for a bit immediately after IF I can...otherwise it's wrap that bugger in an ankle brace and just keep going (wearing hiking boots if at all possible) I wouldn't suggest anything strenuous, but, I have found using it is better than NOT.
