I brought Mandarin and Chantico to the vet today to have their teeth cleaned. Prior to the cleaning, I requested that they do a blood test on each just to make sure that everything was status quo before putting them under

*cuddles the Melissa* Speaking as a similarly paranoid pet parent, I understand where you're coming from and I'm very glad that everything is OK with the kitties. *snugs* Anesthesia is always scary, even when you're not the one getting it. *nodnod
( ... )
And Melissa, of course, texts me with why my cat isn't going to be getting a dental, and I immediately switch to "Homicidally Protective Daddy Mode (God help me, and most of the male population, if I have daughters)." This is the second time this fool has tried to tell us that one of our cats might be dying instead of saying that there's something odd going on, so let's take a look and see what it might be. If he'd done it the way you seem to, Renee, I wouldn't have worried about it nearly as much and I wouldn't have felt like I was planning to put some vet's life in danger. *breath*
Anyway..the cats are all fine, so at this point it doesn't matter. I just don't want the guy touching any of my cats again. Ever.
*pokes* He's not a bad guy, dear. Like I said below, I'm sure he's a fine vet. But we'll make sure that Dr. Stover takes care of the cleanings from now on, that's all. It'll save us some stress. *grins*
And as you can see, Justin's very protective of his kitties.
*whispers* But his growl is a lot worse than his bite. *grins* He'd never hurt the vet, regardless of what he might say here. *rolls her eyes*
*wince* Yeah... I can see why that would get one more than a little irritated. O_o;;; I've always believed in trying for the middle road -- you want to give the client enough information to make an informed decision, but you don't want to panic anyone unnecessarily. *sigh* Hope you have a better experience with the other vets in the practice. *nodnod*
And you both know I'd be happy to see your kitties... I just don't think they'd appreciate the 10 hour car trip. ^_~
And.. the tech who was helping me just called to make sure Mandarin was doing all right. ^_^ She's the one who had to pour Mander into his carrier and assured me that he would turn back into my cat the minute I got him home. That's one of the reasons why I love this practice. Everyone there seems to genuinely care about the pets.
Now if only Sierra would stop hissing at Mandarin. Granted, he still smells funny, even to my numb nose.. he's got a sweetish scent to him. I know he's bathed at least once.. maybe it'll take a few more times. He seems so bewildered when she hisses at him. *grins*
