['Dating' was probably a bit of a misnomer for them. While yes, there was a relationship, and.... yeah, he did care about her. A lot. It still seemed a bit generic of a term for everything it seemed to compromise. But that might have been him complicating things unnecessarily.

Not that it was a bad complication, though. Or-- yeah, too much thinking. Maybe it was a little strange for him to be concerned about interactions with someone else, but that was precisely why it seemed so much more complicated to him. Nevertheless, he rapped on her door with a knuckle as he approached, pausing, before calling in.]

[It's a quiet relationship. It's nothing like what Junpei might get into with a girl, all flirting; it's not something strict like what Mitsuru would want. Instead, it's just...what it is. It's comfortable, and that's what she likes about it. And she likes him quite a bit, though she's never sure how far she should push when it comes to trust and honesty. He has his life and she has hers.

As the leader of SEES, she trusts he'll keep himself safe and well. But she doesn't want to be the leader when it's just the two of them. The balance, then, is a little off, a little different.

It's unexpected. It's kind of exciting.
