Cosplay Laundry List o DOOOOOM
I usually do these over on DevArt, but I wanted to be different this time. XD
Planned Conventions
-Tokyo in Tulsa, June 18-20 2010
-AFest, Labor Day Weekend (4-day con)
- Izumicon 2010 (Saturday Only)
Seeing as Tokyo in Tulsa is on the horizon (only 79 days away XD), I need to get my costume selection in gear and decide which ones are going and which ones aren't. I'd love to have something new for the Cosplay Contest, but I don't think it'll happen. This reminds me... I should probably go ahead and put in a request for time off those days.

Of course, since I didn't get to go to NakaKon with Reno, I'm thinking about going to AFest. Reno would like to go and I think our Demyx may need some people to share room costs with. AFest wouIzumld be my first HUGE con. It's in Texas over Labor Day weekend and lasts from the Friday to Monday. Demyx has been trying to get me to go for the last two years. XD

We're also all planning to only go to the Saturday of Izumi this year due to the craptastic time we had last year. The whole cosplay group has decided that Izumi ain't worth the $45 they charge for all 3 days. Friday and Sunday are silly. Beyond the few random panels and VA stuff they have, Izumi only has good offereings on Saturday. Of course, we're also not too fond of the con directors and I, personally, feel a negative energy towards Slashers and Yaoi fangirls. Izumi is trying to appeal to a younger audience. It's the sort of con I'd send younger relatives and friends to to pop their con cherries, but it's not so enjoyable for the college and up crowd. When you and your friends have more fun going to Wal-Mart in costume than you do at the actual con, there's a problem....

In-Progress Stuff
~Cloud Strife~
Completed: 70%
To-Dos: Finish altering the pants. Those pyramid studs ain't gonna come off by themselves! Also have to make the "battle-skirt" and long sleeve as well as the straps and shoulder pauldron. I have the stuff to work on it, I just need to figure out the best way to make the pauldron. Also need to grab some scupltey and make the Wolf's head.

Completed: 95%
To-Dos: Make shoulder armor and apply to jacket. Also, need to grab the E6000 from Reno to re-attach the feathers to the wig. Reno did a dye-job for me and I realized that I had the feathers on the wrong side! *facepalm*
Future Costumes

This is what happens when someone introduces me to a new Anime! I find characters to cosplay.
D strikes me as Vincent Valentine's older brother with a bit more spunk. Beautiful women throw themselves at D and his usual reaction is: "lol whut?" He's a pretty boy who doesn't care that he's pretty, he just wants his monies, dangit! Doesn't help he wears a big birmed hat and a cape, things that instantly turn me on to a character. Left Hand's snark doesn't help much either. XD
D would be a heavy make-up costume, but I'm up for the challenge. Already hunting for fabrics even though I don't have the best of reference shots. XD

Demon butler in Victorian garb? Yes plz!
Sebastian is kinda up in the air, though, due to the fact that another one of our group, our beloved ToxicElement, wants to do Sebastian. I may go ahead and do it for the fun of it, but I plan to do another Black Butler character so that we can have variation. XD

I've started to price those babies and the feathers alone look like they're gonna be nearly $100. She's definitely a contest costume. Even though she's rather evil and most people hate her, I'm rather attracted to her character and costume. Although, If I do Angela, I'd like to have an Ash to run around with. XD If you've watched the anime, you'll know why. If you haven't well... it's a secret. >3<
~A Pokemon Gijinka~
These are getting real popular around here for some reason. Basically, you make an outfit that looks like a pokemon without actually BEING the pokemon. Follow me?
Well, I was entertaining the idea of being a Rattata when a friend showed me the first pokemon of Generation V. Fell in love with the new little guy: Zorua. And I've been listening to Heather Dale's "Black Fox," so that may be influencing me. But I've done a rather lovely rendition that I don't think'd be too hard to make. Need to reserch into "Cats" wigs so I can be the rockinest Gijinka EVAH!
Other than that, there's not much of interest on the cosplay horizon other than my Loli!Blue Rhapsody Heartless and MAYBE Rufus Shinra.
