AU Background: Hayate comes from a smaller mundane family. While her mother and father are not in the scene, her older brother Light Yagami works as an adviser to Ishida Mitsunari, king of Sawa. For the most part, she lives at home, taking care of the day to day tasks as well as studying. She is visited by a tutor from Poennon a few times a month.
She is extremely frail, and has been since she was a young child, though it is not entirely known as to why. Doctors have run tests but all have been inconclusive. The "illness" has paralyzed her from the waist down, and she requires either someone to carry her or a wheelchair in order to get around.
Unknown to all (even to herself) is her own magical potential, and it is because of this that Hayate becomes a master in the Holy Grail War, seemingly by accident. Her servant, Archer, is summoned by a strange artifact in her home, which she had no recollection of ever having.
Personality: Hayate is a fighter, even if she does not always come off as such. With a heart bigger than most anyone, she does what she feels is the best for those around her, putting others far above herself. She does her best to make sure that others do not worry about her, even in the state that she is in she does not ask for help. This is not to say that she will not take help when it is given, however.
Even though the cards are very much stacked against her, Hayate still manages to maintain a rather upbeat attitude. Serene and good-natured, she is very even tempered and is not one to make excuses for her condition. There are plenty of things that she cannot do, this is a fact. But you'll never once see Hayate complaining about this fact. Instead, she will come up with ways to get around her disability and lack of strength.
Despite having a weaker constitution, there are few who are as strong as Hayate Yagami. Though small and young, she is extremely wise beyond her years, even if she does not always show it. Living most of her early life relying on herself, having others to take care of means a lot to her, and the few people that she has come to call "friend" are held in the highest esteem. In her eyes, the people that she cares about can do little wrong; when the circumstance comes up where they are, however, she does her best to prove their innocence.
Hayate is also not a pushover. When she feels that the people that she cares about are in trouble, she will fight for them in any way that she can. While her resources certainly are limited in that regard now, this won't always be the case.
Combat Style: Currently Hayate does not fight. When she does come into power, however, Hayate has the capacity to be a rather potent magical fighter. Her strengths lie in long-range tactical maneuvers, as well as working as a magical battery for those around here. Girl's got some serious mana to burn.
