At Efferton Manor

Sep 18, 2005 23:10

It was after 6pm when Oz woke from his nap. He lay for a long time in the bed, in shock, in disbelief. He'd been so sure the morning was a dream. Couldn't have really happened. But...he was in a very nice room, a room that looked and felt to be in a very nice home. Wednesday's home ( Read more... )

It should be noted that the gates are locked. The family that owns the Manor is very well aware of the abilities of .. various critters.

Attempting to get inside is not advisable.

Gate is actually sentient. It is called 'Gate' and it is canon to the original Addams Family Residence.

NOT a good idea to fuck with Gate.

[OOC: Heh. I know that's for the benefit of anyone who might reply, but for Oz's part, have to say he trusts them. But he's also very aware of what his wolf can do...and very...wary of letting the wolf out...]

Nose to the wind, Red was sure he picked it up.

A fresh scent. Not man, not wolf, something of a hybrid. It carried on the wind and it pulled at something primal in Red.

Nothing violent, nothing wild, but almost a need that stretched through the tendrils of the life flow.

He trotted on now, purpose pulled him in the direction his instincts led him, until he was at a large house at the edge of town.

The scent was stronger here.

Up the winding driveway, Red followed his nose, only stopping occasionally to get his bearing until he was lead to the large wooden doors.

A pull hung to the side. Red looked for another way around but the walls were too...ominous. And it was rude to simply leap into someone's yard without an invitation.

He had to turn his head to the side to get his mouth around the rope, and Red pulled down at the bellpull.

The sound of the bell caught Wednesday's attention as she was laying out her clothing for the next morning. A glance at the clock told her that it was quite late... possibly too late for the safety of any callers.

Frowning a little, she glanced outside. She had a few minutes.... Leaving her clothing where it was, she left the apartment and the carriage house, arriving at the gate after only a minute or two. Glancing left and right, she coaxed Gate to open for her, slipping out onto the street.

She was unprepared for the creature that awaited her and stared at him silently for a long moment as Gate closed behind her. "...you're not a werewolf," she told him, almost accusingly.

This was a bit of a surprise and his face showed it (in as much as Red's canine features could show any expression). His paw scratced at one ear and he sat down, tail swishing back and forth on the ground, sweeping the leaves off to one side, then the other.

"Neither are you," he said, matter-of-factly. "But there is one here, is there not?"

"Yes," Wednesday admitted, seeing no reason to hide the fact. "But there's another one as well, apparently. If we were to have four-footed callers, I would have expected werewolves. My name is Wednesday Addams. And you are...?"
