i think my journal is unusually old. it's disconcerting that people i'm just meeting this year can read back to my sixteen-year-old thoughts. those thoughts weren't private then, but they almost are now. i present sixteen year old leila in snippits, stories, and exaggerations, mostly. i think i'm portraying her accurately, but who really knows
