okay my new hero is Lestor Bangs, legendary rock critic who some of you might know as the character Philip Seymour Hoffman played in Almost Famous. i have now read "Psychotic Reactions and Carberator Dung", a collection of his best work. i read the book cover to cover last night until 4 am

Have you ever heard of Robert Christgau? He's an amazing critic too. I would also highly recommend Chuck Klostermann (he writes in/for Spin)'s book...it's got a cereal bowl on the cover, that's about all I know. He's hilarious.
