Sherlock 2x03 Reaction

Jan 17, 2012 00:55

Another write-as-I-go reaction post.

Okay. So. John’s cracking…yet I’m okay. I like these odds. Maybe being a little under the weather will work in my favor as I’ve been given a dose of skepticism. Though not for fantastic fan-squee inducing. But I will say, the way he handles choking on words…Brilliant, Mr. Martin.

So apparently you will never be able to surprise Sherlock at Christmas. Phooey.

Is it sad that I didn’t register the hanging ‘man’?

Mooooriaaaarrrty. And we both rolled our neck at the same time. That was creepy. Would be more so if I hadn’t been trying to crack things all day.

Oh the App jokes that could be made.

What is it with all these bloody people with milk/cream in their tea? Don’t they realize they’re ruining a perfectly good cup of refreshment and wonderfulness? Then again, I have several UK friends who have informed me that my addiction to the substance is far greater than anyone they’ve seen who supposibly live the stereotype.

And now he’s SPILLING it! No respect, I tell you. No respect.

Oh my GOD… NOT THE TEA. SERIOUSLY! Steal the crown jewels! Take the wealth of the nation! Let the criminals run free in fields of wildflowers… but dear goodness, men! SAVE THE TEA!

…Is that Sherlock fangirl? Oh geeze. Becky syndrome?

Or not. GO you writers. GO you.

Listen to John once in a while, would you not?

…Friend mentions her sister taking a shower without a showerhead. The next words from Sherlock’s mouth? “I can’t just turn it on and off like a tap.” …creeeeeepy.

“I should get myself a live in one.” Apparently we dumb humans are a marketable resource. WHOO!

Car pulls up to John: “Oh bloody hell..not this again. Haven’t I done this enough?”

Oh Sibling issues.

Grimm tales. Yes.

Oh please no. Don't let that theory be right. PLEASE don't let that theory be right.

No, no NO. PLEASE no.

….and the fact that she's playing such a role in this ep doesn't help. Okay. Please let this be another red herring. Because from the reaction, it woudl seem like this would be the easiest possible solution.
But, in fact, because they're starting to point it out would also make a like minded viewer think that the red herring was too obvious, and thus it would be more of a shock if it actually WAS the real twist. At the same time I could be over crediting the viewing audience.

Moriarty said that we both know that’s not quite true concerning Sherlock’s heart. That he would burn him. Except maybe the final problem is where their limits lie. What if Moriarty is doing this to make Sherlock doubt himself, his sanity. After all, Sherlock’s fear, as shown in the last episode, was doubt itself. What if this is how Moriarty rips him to shreads, proving himself superior? This whole series has been about Sherlock and his mortality and how he doesn’t know how to cope with it. How it is a weakness.

And John pointed out how the press would turn.

FUCK YOU COM SCI MAJORS. SHERLOCK CAN WORK A MAC. WHO SAYS THEY’RE SHIT NOW? HUH? HUUUUUH? (Yes. I realize this is fiction)

…I just yelled “fuck yes” really loud. With mum home and up. BLUSH What? You insult Sherlock, apparently John’s inner pitbull comes out.

And now that spoiler pic makes sense.

“take my hand.”
“now people will definitely talk.”
John, love, they already do.

Um…do you know how easy it is to fake documents like that? Not buying this.

Did he just…steal his own plot device from Doctor Who? Oh come on now!

Dammit Sherlock! I know that is something to get John to go away, but DAMMIT. I WANT YOU TO HAVE A MOMENT…even though moments aren’t your thing!

Before this gets dramatic, I have to say-no wonder the police needed Sherlock. They wouldn’t check EVERY ONE AND PLAC EHE KNOWS? Lab? Really?

“You’re insane!”
“you’re just getting that now?”
Oh I feel like I should be saying this to people all the freakin’ time.

Oh my god you beautiful genuiues. Moriarty goes down, snippers triggered, so Sherlock jumps---which he might survive, as opposed to a shot he know he won’t. Because everyone was anticipating the double toss!

“And a good man cries” we all assumed it would be John.
And…there he goes.

Okay. So. I didn’t sob. When John cracked graveside I did get really choked up/tears in eyes. But I didn’t sob. IF I hadn’t known what would happen due to spoilers/the stories, I probably would have been a mess.

So here’s Cassie’s thoughts/feelings about the next series. The creative co have said they’d like to do aspects of the stories others seem to neglect “Like Watson being married and living separately”. Soooo What if during this ‘break’ (In stories, three years) John meets Mary. She helps pull him back into reality and he proposes/they get married. So that when Sherlock comes back he’s living somewhere else. And so you get John dealing with balancing domestics with Sherlock…

But in the original stories, Mary dies. What if the tension between John’s ‘professional’ and ‘personal’ life she’s actually very understanding of, but it does run them down. But in the third story/end she ends up dying. Possibly even case related. That way you can play up some bad blood between them in a fourth if it does well/people are still interested in continuing?
