Wow! You met that guy? You'll enjoy that film... well... you'll find it interesting. There's also a documentary about Larkin's reaction to the film - he did NOT like it at all.

I saw him on TV recently as well. I think he was cleaning up and making a comeback or something. I hated the film based on its style and the heavy-handed presence of the annoying filmmaker but the DVD (got it at the library!) comes with some of his films and that's the shit you want.
