Hey! You! Back in your closet!
*ahem* ANYWAY...
1. When I started shipping them
Hmmmm....Officially? I posted my first PJ thing to the now-defunct (I think?) Yahoo TF slash list in...2001, I think? But they'd been in my head a long while before that. I was just trying not to do the slash thing with TFs, for various reasons. Finding that damned Yahoo list broke my resolve, though. It was all Season 3 characters, it seemed, and I just felt this overwhelmingly devious need to break some people's brains. So, I wrote a P/J thing...while at a meditation retreat. *snicker* Yeah, my mind wasn't quite empty that long weekend, I'm afraid. Bad Nightwind! ;) I thought the pair would cause a simple WTF reaction and be totally ignored, but apparently other people liked the idea...
2. What I think their challenge isCommunication. As in, Prowl doesn't do it, and that gets mighty frustrating to one such as Jazz, who's all blah, blah, blah. Most would say that ( ... )

1. When I started shipping them
Honestly? I've been trying to figure out a way to at least somewhat plausibly pair these two for...um, 25 years. I just like the extreme strangeness of it, even though I don't usually go for cross-faction things.
But then, a cracky and totally not-remotely-canon re-imagining of everything TF when it comes to history, culture, biology, and...well...yeah, pretty much everything thwacked me in the head this past summer. The short version is that I came up with a Cybertronian social structure that is analogous in some ways to social insects. Termites, specifically. It continues the long and cliched tradition of making aliens a lot like bugs, you see. :) It's totally weird, but it would not (and, apparently, will not) leave me alone.
And then things really went downhill when I realized that ( ... )

1. When I started shipping them
Long ago. Like, probably 1985. Although ironically enough I have yet to publish anything specifically about them, because I'm just...lame. But this is something which will be rectified shortly. It's just that this short 1-page vignette I wrote kind of mutated and grew like a friggin' cancer. :p
2. What I think their challenge is
Having time to themselves whilst fighting a war, I think. Which, I also think, is much easier for them to do on Earth than it was on Cybertron. Which is probably one factor amongst many that contributes to the fact that in my mind they both like the former a lot more than the latter.
3. What makes me happy about themOh...everything. :) They're my "old marrieds." Secure and happy and, in that sense, kind of like role models. Not that I create a lot of relationships, mind you, because I don't think that's entirely realistic, but if I were of that mindset, then I ( ... )
